More than 60 go books available (among which a lot of highly praised classics) with nice interactive features at a fair price. A Must for every serious go player.

Very fluid, lots of books. A no brainet for any go book regular reader.

Id rather prefer a regular ePub book instead of this application, since it lacks of the advantages to bookmark the page youve stopped reading or to highlight paragraphs youd want to refer to when learning. If added, Id appreciate it.

It is just an inapp-book store. No book is included. The Books are between 2,99 & 10,00 Euro. But Id prefer to by them as eBooks - not Inside this App.

This is an excellent app. I love reading the books of yuan Zhou. He has a very entertaining writing style. Please bring more books of him.

smartgo books lets me read go books on my ipod touch. the interface is very clear with proper page breaking in between diagrams. the diagrams are a joy to use. you just click through the sequence of moves interactively if you want to, or see it as the usual numbered sequence as well. i think this is a far more powerful way to read go books than traditional paper books, and when you buy a book through smart go it is significantly *cheaper*. each book that is available has the full table of contents and usually the first couple of chapters for freevas well! If you are a kyu level player do yourself a favor and but janice kims learn to play go series.

Has a very nice variety of books, useful for beginners to low kyus (maybe even dans, i didnt check all the books yet). Previews of each book are extensive, so you can really get a feel for how the author explains if ever you want to buy.

Is it possible for you guys at smartgo to add "the chinese opening" by Kato Masao? If you could this app would be my favorite forever!!

With a selection of books larger than most could source locally, this app allows you to purchase and read select titles from publishers such as Yutopian and Kisedo. The prices are discounted from the print versions and the digital integration means all diagrams are interactive and can be copied into a digital kifu as well. The selection of books is excellent for a beginner as all the classics are here like Janice Kims Learn to Play Go series and the Elementary Go series, however, there are some books here for more advanced players as well.

Go books from smartgo brings Go books to a new level. I bought many books I already had in paper format but to be able to read them in such an interactive way makes it worth it to pay for them all over again. Reading invincible play by play is much more enjoyable, playing through an interactive problem book is also much more enjoyable. I can only hope for more books to be published.

Oh I get it now this not an app but an ad

This app is a great way to keep all of your go books together in one place, and it also is ideal for acquiring new books especially if you live far from a place that sells go books. I would like to see the following functions implemented though... 1. In book navigation; a simple scroll bar or jump-to-page/chapter function would be much better for navigation than having to swipe through all the pages every time. 2. Being able to organize books in the app and in the store by set would help customers to keep complete sets of books together. 3. This isnt a function, but some book sets are missing from the store; Elementary Go Series vols. 1 and 2 for example. It would be nice to be able to buy books in a set and not have gaps in the set. Otherwise this is a great app.

No other way to get your hands on such a collection of Go-related books

Books are SO much easier to read! Sequences can be played and problems can be solved interactively. I hope there will be more books, especially from Mastering the Basics and Get Strong at Go series.

I appreciate this effort of porting cheap and easy-to-read go books on iOS. Please add new titles.

Studying go is one of the most exciting and stimulating intellectual activity. When you really understand the value of a technique or learn a new finesse, then you really made your day. Nevertheless studying go is also a concentration task. You have to read carefully diagrams with a lot of moves reading out right moves order sequenzing numbers reported on any single stone. This task now become simple and funny thanks to SmartGo Books because original books are rewritten using interactive diagram where you can animate the sequence like in a real game. Road to perfection (5 stars): to introduce the chance to edit any single position proposed in the book in order to try personal variation.
